Pittsburgh City Council moved forward this week with a plan to ban the declawing of cats in the city unless medically necessary. City Council voted unanimously to ban the practice. Now, it’s up to the Mayor, Bill Peduto to sign the bill into law.
If the law is passed, Pittsburgh will be the first city in Pennsylvania to ban declawing and the city join a growing list of communities across the country (and the world) that are protecting cats from this traumatic and unnecessary surgery.
With the help of advocacy groups like Alley Cat Allies and The Paw Project, more and more cat parents are becoming aware of the lifelong damage that declawing surgery does to our beloved cats.
Declawing causes both physical and emotional harm. It is not simply a removal of a cat’s claws — it is the amputation of the last joints of their toes. And, it serves no medical benefit. In addition, it removes a cat’s physical and emotional need to scratch, often leading to lifelong physical and behavior problems that reach far beyond the reason the pet owner had their claws removed in the first place. These issues can most often lead to biting and inappropriate urination.
With the tireless outreach of these and other groups, New York became the first state to ban declawing. If the ban is passed in Pittsburgh, violators who are caught declawing a cat could face a fine of up to $500.

Along with New York state, St. Louis County in Missouri, 10 major U.S. cities, nearly all Canadian provinces, and at least 42 countries declaw surgery for cats is against the law. That number will continue to increase as multiple states and cities consider declaw bans of their own — and hopefully Pittsburgh will be the next on the list.

So declawing a cat is this ‘great travesty’ and ‘unspeakable evil,’ but killing a baby in the womb is okay?: “my body my choice.” That’s how messed up this nation is.

I do not know a whole lot on cats, but it is not much of a stretch for me to assume that taking the animal’s natural functions away is wrong and unnecessary. I’m simply just pointing out the hypocrisy of this country. You can kill indiscriminately, rob the widows, lie to everyone, cheat on multiple partners, and on and on; but as soon as you do anything wrong to a cat, then the full power of “the man” is unleashed.
Why? Well, when you have a people that views themselves as animals, therefore they worship the animal.

Just throwing out a suggestion here — I was thinking maybe you could do an article on making fermented foods like sauerkraut and kimchi, etc. They are super cheap and easy to make and have a pretty good shelf life.

Now of course animal cruelty is evil and a sin as well as a crime and it must be prosecuted and charged and God is going to let them have it, but at the same time, don’t love and respect animals with the same level or higher than you do people!
Good, now to ban ear and tail docking!
People that declaw cats have indoor cats they don’t want climbing the curtains & clawing up the furniture that rarely, if ever, see the out of doors…..let alone have a ‘natural’ need to fight off a dog or hunt rats or mice. Natural is already gone when it comes to domestic cats in such an environment. Town & city people….or wannabe ‘cool’ folks, and in the case of the crazy angora etc, like the one in the picture ….MAYBE for showing, breeding, etc.

These same people kill their pets softly with rich & unnatural foods, chemical flea treatments & anti-parasiticals, and with cancer from giving them every vaccine going! It’s insane the number of people that put their pets on ‘anti-anxiety’ meds, too!! Then putting them down at the first inconvenience from incontinence etc from that sort of slow death.
…..But they can sure puff their self-righteousness over vanities & other-peoples’-business, pets and children they are so sure they could raise & care for better than ‘people like that’. A LOT of these people are sodomite. Just desperate sinners seeking to prove their righteousness by their faithfulness to the vet schedule & over those ‘bad’ pet owners & farmers etc armed with the latest anti-farm video on ‘animal cruelty’ which they never, ever vet & do their due diligence concerning to see how truthful or not, how widespread or not, & what the alternatives are, who’s funding & directing the thing (can you say ‘beyond meat’ and Bill Gates etc?)
All they have is their pets & other peoples’ children whose affection & control they seek to transfer to themselves. Socialist writ large.
Kill the babies. Inject experimental meds in them & everyone else. Transhumanize them chemically. Groom them for sexual exploitation & abuse. Traffic them & pretend it’s about loving immigrants. Drug them for natural behaviors because of lifestyles & a planned economy that don’t have time or space or coveted money to spare for the sacrifices of real family, real women & mom’s at home….or real teachers & teaching. NEVER, EVER teach chastity, restraint and self-control, or God’s protecting order.
But let the cats have their claws. Vanity, vanity…. I know a young person going to vet school, & it’s tragic the lowering of mankind & the dignity of mankind created in the image of God, the folly of self-righteousness, the raising of the beast to a higher level than man. Note that they didn’t outlaw the DRUGS pushed & given to animals, or cut back the certification, education, and ‘inspection’ crony classes and market. PATHETIC.
