What do you suppose would happen if the President of the United States deemed it necessary, for “national security,” to flip the Internet Kill Switch? In these digital times, there should be great concern over something like this. However, normalcy bias seems to have a firm hold on a majority of the citizens of the US, and many are clinging to the “it can’t happen here” theory.
The United States has yet to employ this particular tool. However, according to data gathered to examine the financial impact of internet shutdowns, since 2019, there have been 237 major internet shutdowns in 45 countries. [source]
What Is An Internet Kill Switch?
An internet kill switch is a device/software/configuration that allows one to shut down all internet access within a region or country indefinitely. If activated, the kill switch would prevent everyone from checking social media, shopping online, using online messenger services, sending emails, or anything else involving an internet connection.
In many cases, this may also include any form of phone contact (it varies).
Which Countries Have Already Used The Internet Kill Switch?
Hackers have the ability to down the entire internet system, as we have seen with op article and op article. However, governments around the globe have also resorted to shutdowns, claiming it to be necessary for public safety. For example, India (a democratic nation) was the global leader in shutdowns in 2019, with over 150 in 3 years. [source]

Cuba
On July 11, Cuban citizens rallied in the streets to protest food and medicine shortages and electricity outages. Within two days, the Cuban government began restricting internet access.
China
Back in 2009, riots broke out in Xinjiang. The communists responded by shutting down the internet to the region for an entire year. [source]
Egypt
Amid protests, Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak cut off nearly all internet access and shut down all cell phone services. The shutdown lasted for five days. [source]
Iran
November 16, 2019, Iran authorities flipped the switch, plunging citizens into digital darkness for nearly 11 days. According to an Amnesty International press release, the deliberate shutdown was an attempt to hide the horrendous killings across the country.
Zimbabwe
In 2019, President Mnangagwa announced a fuel price increase. Protests against the increase caused Mnangagwa to shut down the internet. Critics called the shutdown “an attempt to hide growing reports of a violent crackdown on protests.” [source]
South Sudan
Protests? We can fix that with an internet shutdown. [source]
Zambia
Election day, 2021, warranted shutting down many social media platforms and some messaging apps. Although the Zambian government denied the reports Secretary, Amos Malupenga mentioned there would be no hesitation to take appropriate measures. [source]
Colombia
Colombia’s government used this innovative means of stopping protests here in May 2021 – an internet shut down. [source]
The Republic of the Congo

I think mentioning the word ‘elections’ regarding Russia is enough to make anybody laugh. Have a pesky election-tracking app you need shut down? A partial internet shutdown can do the trick. [source]

Ethiopia’s government shut down the internet 12 times before blacking out the country for nearly 16 days in 2020. Reports said this was an attempt to muzzle activists demanding justice for the killing of a beloved musician. [source]
Does The United States Have An Internet Kill Switch?
Technically, yes.
Under an entirely unconstitutional 1930s law on the books: 47 USC 606: War Powers of President; Chapter 5, Subchapter VI, the President has the authority to wield that mighty weapon.
(c) Suspension or amendment of rules and regulations applicable to certain emission stations or devices
Upon proclamation by the President that there exists war or a threat of war, or a state of public peril or disaster or other national emergency, or in order to preserve the neutrality of the United States, the President, if he deems it necessary in the interest of national security or defense, may suspend or amend, for such time as he may see fit, the rules and regulations applicable to any or all stations or devices capable of emitting electromagnetic radiations within the jurisdiction of the United States as prescribed by the Commission, and may cause the closing of any station for radio communication, or any device capable of emitting electromagnetic radiations between 10 kilocycles and 100,000 megacycles, which is suitable for use as a navigational aid beyond five miles, and the removal therefrom of its apparatus and equipment, or he may authorize the use or control of any such station or device and/or its apparatus and equipment, by any department of the Government under such regulations as he may prescribe upon just compensation to the owners.
Perhaps you think this only applies to radios. It couldn’t possibly apply to your laptop or phone, right?
Don’t forget your devices use radio waves to receive their internet access. In addition, your devices can access Google Maps, which would qualify your computer as a navigational aid.

What Do You Think Would Happen In The US If The Switch Got Flipped?
While the first thing that comes to mind is communications, there are many more ramifications, particularly if it went on for a longer period of time.
Many people use “paperless billing” and pay for everything online. We use online banking for all sorts of purposes. ATMs are connected to the internet. Many businesses rely on an internet connection for daily operations. Daisy said on the topic, “When I worked for a car dealership, we had to have internet access to program all those computer modules controlling your vehicle, to look up malfunction codes, and to determine whether or not a repair was covered by warranty.” And that’s just one example of a business that uses the internet constantly. There are many, many more.
A whole lot more than social media and email would immediately grind to a halt.
Unplug The Internet Kill Switch Act of 2020
Last year in 2020, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard introduced the Unplug the Internet Kill Switch Act of 2020 to Congress. H.R.8336 would have directly attacked 47 USC 606, making it not pertain to internet usage. While Congress did not refuse the bill, they left it to sit with no further actions. [source]
In 2016, we experienced something similar when the Supreme Court denied hearing a petition to release information on the ‘secret’ DHS internet kill switch protocol. [source] Because we need an internet kill switch, of course. THAT is an issue of national security.

My feeling is that people who navigated life before the internet will have an easier time when the kill switch is flipped on. Nevertheless, maybe an internet-free day per week would not be a bad idea to learn how to wean off from this electronic heroin………much like some people have “meat-free” days. The “powers that be” want the entire world electrified……anything to go against that grain cannot be a bad thing. I have a hunch there will be no electrical outlets and wires in Heaven.
This is has been a concern of mine, and of many, for decades. How to fight & resist it was the question. It came into all facets of communications & business, & every institution. No matter how inaccurate or skewed the mess got, you couldn’t get anyone to go back to the old, hard copy, more accurate & difficult to ‘disappear’ means of bookkeeping or retaining information. It was ‘above your paygrade’.
Here & there people tried resisting. This was why the remnant of free churches were targeted by Dole’s deal & the infiltrating mystics & pragmatic opportunists, as well as many of the ‘libertarian’ types. Hindsight is always 20/20, & the inexperience & natural hubris of the young & immature is targeted for both exploitation AND to foster division by the craft….so that people are less likely to unite in Christ, & making the cost of doing so very high. The Lord by his Spirit & word uses that to his end of sorting souls…but those who don’t really know the word, or who are doubleminded, influenced by the world’s philosophies & traditions (psychology, evolutionary philosophy…even progressive religion, indirectly through the managed ‘arts’ & workplace practices….economic structure in which those things fit (and a man who does not provide for his family is worse than an infidel…& we do not live in the theocracy of old Israel, nor yet in the Millennial restoration) …..are at a distinct disadvantage, & handicapped. The Lord sees it ALL.
Outside the order & authority of Christ according to the word, voluntary liberty & personal responsibility & accountability….all you have is the world’s order of ‘managing’ sin, and mutual exploitation at whatever level the current societal ‘norm’ will suffer: whether it wears Rome’s or world religion’s face, or claims to be ‘secular’ & ‘neutral’ (which is just a handy cloaking device…for anything of men involves conscientious choice & truth by God’s order & creative design).
It didn’t make sense outside of the biblical conspiracy framework, & that’s part of what the purposeful dumbing down & demoralization strategy was about. The confusion of the Bible versions was just phase one, foundation level. It’s ALWAYS the first target: Genesis 3 & Romans 10 KJB. How will they hear? And, who will teach them?
As people woke up & prayed for wisdom, separated etc ….niches developed. Realizing & witnessing the disappearance of history, the Romish-antichrist ecumenizing of publishing…even beyond the King James Version itself, as to the supporting framework of WHY the King James Version: the reasons for the hope that we have first in hard curriculums, & then….much faster & easier by the electronic version of things, steered economically & by making the cost & effort of producing, keeping & maintaining hard copy ….we began compiling a hard library to pass on to whosoever would receive it.
As Bryan discovered, though: few are receptive, or up to the challenge, humility, effort, price & sacrifice of this aspect of spiritual resistance & warfare. Complicating matters is the reality, in keeping with scripture & the history of the patriarchs & Israel: even the best of men & saved, are yet fallible, corruptible. God’s preservation of scripture is necessary….but men need to be able to give the reason for the hope that they have as the scripture is under constant attack, with wisdom, maturity, & sobriety.
The history of man is a tragedy….not a positive romance.
It is disturbing to me how the seemingly militant young are biased against the work of true scholarship & study. This puts everything on a sensual experiential, mystical level in time which the god & spirit of this world, & his ministers of craft…sorcerers WITH that knowledge, but hating & warring against it due to sin & aggregated power….can exploit with ease, turning men to their antichrist unity.
Old wives tales and superstition, the idolatry of humanism with its confounding of the John 1 light that lighteth every man that cometh into the world, with the ‘inner light’…’intuitive knowing’ & so forth, which in time devolves into rank idolatry & outright & utter devilish possession. It doesn’t matter if it comes in stoical ‘scientific’ or Calvinist-Augustinian, Scholastic terms or romantic, sensual epicurean terms: the outcome is the same.
Can you imagine how much faster time would have wound down & prophecy be fulfilled, if Rome could have controlled hard-copy publishing & dissenting information censoring as completely & absolutely as they can with the internet & its absolutely centralized structure? All by the grace & mercy of God, the power of his word….with men the weak link even as with Solomon or Hezekiah, Josiah.
On the other hand, the time-consuming, labor intense necessities involved with separation from the world’s system & what it’s becoming, don’t lend themselves to study even of the King James Bible for many if they HAVE the material & information ….let alone the supporting historical & doctrinal distinctives & framework. The only-the-essentials simplicity movement concerns me some, for without great care you can end up where the Amish-Mennonite have & though the rapture could happen tomorrow, we could also see another generation or two who need to know the distinctives between Christ and antichrist, the Bible perver$ion$ & the true, and the kingdom of God versus that of the world.
Speaking of which. The little family farm markets were gradually squeezed out through economic manipulations which made it a losing proposition here locally….just a microcosm of the whole & part of their antichrist planned economy manipulation. As the old bank barns of our agricultural strength & independence began sitting empty in decay….and the mills of industry became eyesores and the ‘rust belt’….now there are the little roadside stands of former free commerce & production. They still keep their gardens for their own families & church communities under the ‘bishops’, & there are seed banks here & there….but nothing like Liberty Seed & such of years gone by when men saw these things coming & attempted to resist. Some Christian, most not, but libertarian.
Ten years ago we were laughing to see Amish family businessmen ride their buggies up close to ‘English’ businesses where there was internet access, & pulling out cell phones in order to do business & make supply line & selling connections. Now we soberly realize what that was signifying.
It’s worse with the Mennonite. Solar powered battery bikes & solar panels to maintain internet communications are big deals with Amish and Mennonite businesses & their access to cheap labor….meanwhile, China and India and the other BRICS nations, the Psalm 83 alliance nations who could give a flip about pollution, the planet or health of their serf classes (& colluding with Rome through the UN) have tied up the world supply of raw materials necessary to battery & solar production such as lithium & other metals, which they rape the little third world nations to own, leaving a scarred landscape behind AND in the pollution-intense processing of.
Name a job totally disconnected from the net or ‘earth-friendly’ in the new irrational, politicized sense. Those legitimate Christian employment niches have been shrinking, shrinking, shrinking….and absolute & total self-sufficiency is an impossibility.
We are but temporal & corruptible, limited, men & women. And as the prophets of old, when God judges the world consequentially or brings out the rod of chastisement through the pagans….we suffer with the rest.
Even selling the Bridgewater house involves the real estate market totally dependent upon the net & system, & being in the world, but not of it is more challenging than ever. And the means of evangelism dwindle, I suspect in fulfillment of 2 Thessalonians 2 & not disconnected from the historical aggregate of individual free will conscientious choice over which we have little to no control or power to influence. The temptation is to become hardened, for the love of many to grow cold, to lean into the nicolaitan and Augustinian ‘elect’ view rooted in the old Babylonian humanist order & world system, so tempting to the flesh. The pride of life, I suppose.
We must take great care not to devour one another as we make the hard choices these things demand, and with the realization that the psych-sorcerers and Congregation of the Propaganda of Rome, now headed by the Jesuit, actively work to that divisive end! Even as we fight the illegitimate unifying ecumenism with its illegit accusations of ‘divisiveness’ and ‘hate’.
Simple, but not simplistic. Walking by faith, and not by sight…..though not falling to the opposite error of hear, see, speak no evil which means denying and/or ignoring it while it grows & centralizes-unites in the shadows.
We’re coming down to barter being ‘it’….a sole remaining choice. And even that demands community & connection with the world & the ‘privileged’, and depraved, citizens of the sodomite, transhumanist ‘smart cities’ & their perversities. May God grant us grace & wisdom to deal with it as Abraham & not as Lot….though I fear that Lot is a picture of our compromised era & the remnant that will be drawn out in the rapture to face the 1 Corinthians 3 judgment, as well as of that going into the millennium in the flesh.
