Australian Pastor Says It Is Not Right Or Wrong To Take A Covid Vaccine, Says It’s “Liberty Of Conscience”

An Australian Christian apologist and political activist recently told a megachurch congregation that receiving a Covid vaccine is neither evil or holy, as it is a matter of liberty of conscience that should never divide Christians.

Martyn Iles is the head of the Australian Christian Lobby (ACL) in Canberra, Australia – relatively centered between the cities of Melbourne and Sydney.

As described on the organization’s website, the ACL is:

A grassroots movement motivated by faith, together making truth public.

In Australia as well as across the western world, truth in the public square is being attacked and suppressed. The greatest stronghold of truth – Classical Christianity – is being pathologised and blamed for significant harms.

[ACL] intercede[s] for the cause of truth, righteousness, and justice in the public squares is our burden and our core business. This includes interceding for the cause of those who are made a prey.

Through being a politically effective voice, ACL helps to see Christian principles and ethics accepted and influencing the way we are governed, do business and relate to each other as a society.

Together, we are seeking to bring a Christian influence to politics. We want to see Christian principles and ethics accepted and influencing the way we are governed, do business and relate as a society. We want Australia to become a more just and compassionate nation.

ACL is non-party partisan, non-denominational.

The lead organizer of the group, Iles, spoke at The Truth of It Live in Albany, Western Australia, on September 16th, answering questions regarding to taking a Covid vaccine and what the Christian response should be.

An assistant on stage with Iles read a viewer’s question on how to discern between the conflicting data and opinions on the vaccines. Laughingly, Iles said he wasn’t 100% sure how he himself feels, and said there is a lot of stuff out there on the internet. But regardless, Iles gave his thoughts on the matter and how Christians should respond.

My basic take on the situation is, the vaccine is, I believe, a genuine example of a conscience issue. What do I mean by that? I mean that you can’t say it that it is a sin to take the vaccine, but also I don’t know that you can say it is holy to take the vaccine. I suspect it depends on your motives.

The reason it’s difficult is because there are, I believe, good reasons to take a vaccine. For example, it does have some effect on the transmissibility and the deadliness of the virus, mostly on the deadliness of the virus, okay. So there’s some impact there. Now you might say, ‘Well, that’s reason enough for me to take it.’ Well, all the best, and that is fine. However, someone says, ‘But there are fetal cell lines used in the research and development process around this vaccine, and I, in good conscience, cannot, I cannot go there.’ That is a very good reason not to go there, okay, and I’m not going to deny that: that is an actual basis for a conscientious objection on a pro-life ground.

Iles explained

Iles then interjected midway and gave some praise to the minority groups in the Australian society who holding out the government, preventing the authorities to mandate the vaccine for their area. But he continues forth by explaining further.

So the point is, this is a genuine issue of conscience, and Romans 14 is the place to go to look at how to deal with issues of conscience, where it is not abundantly clear [on] either side, and you can make an argument either way. The most important thing is that Paul puts out in Romans 14, where he talks about things that aren’t issues of sin and holiness, or where it’s unclear, he says: ‘Listen, each of you stands before God with his conscience and each of you gives an account to God for his conscience, but here’s the important thing; it should not divide us against each other as Christians.’

That is so, so crucial, it’s not one of those issues. And I saw a story about a church in America that is actually saying, you can’t come to church unless you are vaccinated.

[…] It’s a shame, almost, that it’s so controversial because I see the good reasons, I really do, on both sides.

I don’t say any of that to stop anyone from getting a vaccine, it’s up to you. And I’m not going to say, “thus saith the Lord.” I’m just not going to do it.

Even though hundreds like the video on YouTube, compared to the fewer amount of dislikes, many in the comment section still were opposed to the Covid vaccines.

They mock those against it. Call them names. Dan even said he will lock unvaccinated people out of the health system. Humiliation of the other side. Slowly but surely you are forced to choose a side with consequence.

Furthermore, as mentioned in the other above reports, this verse is another great description and warning:

BEWARE lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Colossians 2:8

This speech by Iles is nothing more than philosophy and the rudiments of the world. Whenever I explain this passage to someone, I always like referring to how Peter S. Ruckman summarized the rudiments of the world, as it lays out perfectly what to beware of. Compare these basic phrases with what Iles said:

• “Everybody else does it”
• “We always have done it”
• “A little bit doesn’t hurt”
• “My conscience doesn’t convict me”
• I know when to quit”
• “You gotta make a living”
• “It all depends how you look at it”

These lukewarm statements made by Iles are on par with the majority of these general statements. These are the statements by people who want to justify sin, and want to entangle you in the process. This is why philosophy is condemned as well, because there are no absolutes in any philosophy: everything is relative, evolving, predicated on perspective, pure opinion; devoid of concrete truth, or truth relative to the individual.

And speaking of “conscience,” as Iles mentioned several times, consider this passage:

[15] Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. [16] They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Titus 1:15-16 (cf. Romans 1:28-32)

This hireling’s conscience is impure and defiled. Consider this passage as well:

He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

Proverbs 28:26

If you rely on your own reasonings, then you are a fool, a clown, a joker. But if you submit to wisdom, then you will escape from the danger (as other passages in Proverbs say something identical). Unlike this COWARD, if you use some wisdom – as some of the people in the comments displayed – then you will be delivered.

One of the classic markings of a false prophet is when they start pontificating about stuff from the Bible, but they never tell the crowd to follow along in the Bible to check them out. This is done on purpose to keep the masses blinded, so he can inject poison into them. To conserve space, I will not post the entire chapter of Romans 14 on here, but I strongly encourage you to read Romans 14 in the King James Bible for yourself. You will quickly see how this guy is lying to you and about God’s word.

The context is talking about the diets and celebration of certain feasts/holidays, and how Christians are not to divide over those things because there is no right or wrong answer.

But, this is not the first time I have ever heard this argument used to justify sin. I used to be in fellowship with people that used verse 14 of that passage to justify their sins and say, ‘well, my conscience does not convict me, I don’t think it’s unclean, but you do and that’s fine, but don’t sin against me for it.’ This line of reasoning is what Colossians 2:8 is warning about. But now do you see how this Iles bloke is nothing more than a liar? There is Christian liberty in things such as diet, celebrations, cultural traditions that do not conflict with scripture; but there is NO such liberty in willingly injecting yourself with gene-altering death shots, loaded with other toxic chemicals – as the scriptures are very clear in saying that the body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, and you are not to defile that temple (1 Corinthians 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 6:16-18).

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Moreover, there are plenty of ways to stay healthy with things in God’s creation – to fight against an UNISOLATED “virus.” Furthermore, where is the faith the Lord to heal you and protect you from actual pestilence?? (Psalms 91, 103:3).

You want to know why Australia, and other nations for that matter, are getting sore punishment from the Lord with all these mandates? There are plenty of passages, but this one really says it all:

[25] Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you. [26] For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men. [27] As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich. [28] They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge. [29] Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this? [30] A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; [31] The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?

So not only do these rich fat-cats in their expensive suits refuse to do judgment, the people love it being lied to. Therefore, they get what they deserve.

But hey, that’s okay, right? I shouldn’t be too harsh right? Just keep calm and lie on, and recite the “Christian Credo” for 2021:
