According to a new survey by Willis Towers Watson between August 18th and 25th, more than half of American companies plan to mandate the vaccine in some function by year’s end, with roughly a quarter of employers considering making the vaccine a prerequisite for the job.
This survey asked almost 1,000 U.S. employers across the nation. These companies surveyed in total make up around 9.7 million staff.
The survey found that by the fourth economic quarter of 2021, over 52% employers could have at least one vaccine mandate in place – an increase from the 21% right now.
According to Reuters, ‘The mandates could range from requiring vaccination for staff to access common areas such as cafeterias to requiring vaccination for all employees.’
Furthermore, the survey found that more employers will be tracking if their staff have been vaccinated, with many companies considering implementing financial incentives.
As of September 1st, USA Facts reports that 63% of the country has received at least one dose, and 53% have been fully vaccinated.
