Study authors point to greater rates of higher education. An analysis of data spanning the past 35 years reveals multiple aspects of education as the strongest factors predicting belief in evolution.

The following report is from Study Finds:

More Americans believe in Darwin’s theory of evolution than those who do not, according to a new study. University of Michigan researchers explain “public acceptance” of evolution is now firmly above the halfway point – with the shift occurring over the past five years or so.

From 1985 to 2010, there was a statistical dead heat between acceptance and rejection of evolution. But acceptance then surged, becoming the majority position in 2016.

Lead researcher Jon D. Miller of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research in a university release.

What’s Behind This Shift In American Thinking?

Study authors point to greater rates of higher education. An analysis of data spanning the past 35 years reveals multiple aspects of education as the strongest factors predicting belief in evolution. Such educational elements include graduating college, civic science literacy, and taking science courses at college.

Almost twice as many Americans held a college degree in 2018 as in 1988. It’s hard to earn a college degree without acquiring at least a little respect for the success of science.

Study co-author Mark Ackerman, a researcher at Michigan Engineering, the U-M School of Information, and Michigan Medicine.

The team included numerous surveys in their research, including polls conducted by the National Science Board, national surveys funded by various units of the National Science Foundations, and a NASA-funded series of polls focusing on adult civic literacy. Across all of those surveys, respondents either agreed or disagreed with the following statement: “Human beings, as we know them today, developed from earlier species of animals.”

Between 1985 and 2007, Americans were evenly divided on the subject of evolution. For instance, one 2005 survey comparing evolution beliefs between countries found only Turkey ranked below the U.S. in terms of accepting evolution as fact. However, over the last decade or so the percentage of Americans who believe in evolution has increased from 40% to 54%.

Religion Becoming More Accepting Of Evolution

On the other end of the spectrum, researchers also investigated what leads to evolutionary skepticism. They list religious fundamentalism as the number one driver of evolution denial. While their numbers have dropped somewhat over the past decade, 30 percent of Americans continue to meet the criteria set by study authors for religious fundamentalism. Interestingly, though, some fundamentalists are keeping a more open mind in recent years. In 1988, only eight percent of fundamentalists accepted evolution. By 2019, that statistic had increased to 32%.

Such beliefs are not only tenacious but also, increasingly, politicized.

Jon D. Miller

The team points out that the subject of evolution has become increasingly politicized in recent years. In 2019, only 34% of conservative Republicans accepted evolution, while 83%of liberal Democrats accept the theory to be true.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

[2] Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. [3] For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; [4] And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2 Timothy 4:2-4

Pope Francis Warns Of Another Global Flood Because Of Climate Change

I personally believe these numbers are conservative, as there are a lot more “Christians” that believe in Darwinian Evolution when you hold their feet to the fire.

Satan’s Favorite Philosophy

[26] As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets, [27] Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us. [28] But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.

Jeremiah 2:26-28

Evolution is nothing new: the backslideen Hebrews accepted the evolutionary theory thousands of years before the likes of Darwin, Heckel, Sagan, and all the pinheads in the field of “science” were conceived. It is just idol worship with a different spin.

[18] For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. [19] For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. [20] Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? [21] For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. [22] For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: [23] But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; [24] But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. [25] Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

1 Corinthians 1:18-25

And once again we see the main culprit: the universities and “public education.” I cannot recount the amount of times I hear stories of how some professing Christian went off to some college, and before they were done they hated God: and I’m just talking the “CHRISTIAN” ones! The truly secular ones are a definite guarantee to turn you into an atheist.

Evolution is nothing more than a fairy tale for grown-ups. It is what the Bible calls “science falsely so called” (1 Timothy 6:20-21). Furthermore, to all those young in the faith, be forewarned: the strong majority of self-declared young earth creationists and apologists are very heretical and still find ways to butcher the scriptures; so do not listen to them, such as Ken Ham or Kent Hovind, as two prime examples.

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

  • Well the backslidden Hebrews also embraced heliocentrism. It is just idol worship with a different spin. Oh I forgot, we don’t talk about that.

      • With flat earth, there’s no Big Bang, because space doesn’t exist and the sun and moon are lights floating above the earth moving on their own in a circuit, just a bit higher than the clouds, and the stars are luminaries. Therefore destroying the whole theory. So I feel it is related to evolution.

  • Actually, the scamdemic is going to prove the main tenant of the Evolution theory; namely the “survival of the fittest”. Those with strong immune systems, and the ability to think logically, will have a chance to survive. People are going to have a great opportunity to see huge levels of death, because the masses have rejected Jesus Christ and the King James Bible.
