Biden Wants To Get More School Children Vaccinated Through Sports And Clubs

President Joe Biden and his administration seek to encourage more children to get vaccinated through channels of pediatricians providing back-to-school sports physicals, “pop-up” vaccination clinics hosted by the school, and parent-student-association (PTA) meetings.

This is all part of a new move announced by the Department of Education and the White House to get more children aged 12 and up to get inoculated before schools reopen soon around the U.S.

Education Secretary Miguel Cardona told NBC in an exclusive interview, that the federal government is doing everything they can to get more children vaccinated, outside of mandatory masking and vaccination – something that he admits they lack the power to do. He hopes that if people such as the high school quarterback gets vaccinated, and others too, it would be an example for others to emulate.

I’m just as worried about the politicization of this as I am about the Covid variant. I would hate to see this year the same level of disruption in our classrooms because of the decisions that adults make.

The NBC report notes that getting these numbers to rise, especially in southern states, will challenging, as many southern schools are banning masks. In Arkansas and Oklahoma for example, only 26% of those aged 12-18 are fully vaccinated.

According to CDC data, teens aged 12-15 across the nation are 29% fully vaccinated, and those aged 18-24 is 44%.

I expect there will be a new, additional wave of Covid-19 cases with the opening of schools and especially among the age group of those below 12 years old. It is likely we will have another surge within three weeks of schools’ starting, and the impact will be worst with lower community vaccination.

‘The American Academy of Pediatrics, or AAP, estimates that 60% to 70% of children and adolescents participate in organized sports, making fall physical exams for athletes a major opportunity to vaccinate the vulnerable group. The American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the AAP are issuing new guidance for physicals supported by 10 other medical and sports organizations, the official said. The National Parent Teacher Association is also working with the AAP to deploy pediatricians to its 22,000 member PTAs,’ says the NBC report.

Currently Dr. Anthony Fauci and Doug Emhoff, the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, are starting a “Week of Action” to get more children vaccinated – including over 200 vaccination events and school sponsored vaccination across the country, before schools officially reopen.

All the more reason your children should not be stepping foot on the grounds of any school. I have no problem in saying that any parent that forces their child to attend a public school wants them to go to hell. And yes, there will be a rise in “cases” a few weeks into the new school, sport, and club cycle; but it will have zero to do with the unvaccinated children: which have already been established from the get-go that those aged 18 and younger have next to no chance of getting infected, and if they supposedly do, they will almost never exhibit a single symptom.
