Amidst reports that the White House may consider a vaccine passport for federal employees to prove their vaccination status, the American Postal Workers Union (APWU) said they are opposed to mandatory vaccination.
Over 220,000 postal workers are members of this union, published an official statement stating that while they are fine with encouraging one another to get vaccinated, they are very much against the idea of mandating one and that it is not the role of the federal government to order such things.
Various media outlets have reported that the White House is considering mandatory COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment for federal employees.
Maintaining the health and safety of our members is of paramount importance. While the APWU leadership continues to encourage postal workers to voluntarily get vaccinated, it is not the role of the federal government to mandate vaccinations for the employees we represent.
Issues related to vaccinations and testing for COVID-19 in the workplace must be negotiated with the APWU. At this time the APWU opposes the mandating of COVID-19 vaccinations in relation to U.S. postal workers.
Says the official statement
Two days ago President Biden was asked if the White House is considering mandating the vaccine for all federal workers. Biden said yes, and stated that those who are unvaccinated are “sowing enormous confusion.”
We have a pandemic because of the unvaccinated, and they’re sowing enormous confusion. And there’s only one thing we know for sure, if those other 100 million people got vaccinated, we’d be in a very different world. So get vaccinated. If you haven’t, you’re not nearly as smart as I said you were.
Meanwhile, though it is not a vaccine, the Department of Defense (DoD) recently announced that they will be making masks mandatory again.
Effective immediately, in accordance with CDC guidelines and DoD direction, the Director of Administration & Management has directed that service members, federal employees, onsite contractor employees, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a mask in an indoor setting in installations and other facilities owned, leased or otherwise controlled by DoD in the Pentagon Reservation. Further changes will be published in updated guidance for the Pentagon Reservation Health Protection Condition (HPCON). If you do not have a mask, DoD is prepared to provide one at Pentagon Reservation entrances.

Biden, you are the last person on this earth to judge anyone’s intelligence. But this is the same puppet on a string that after he made masks mandatory on federal grounds in the winter months, he then literally proceeded to walk on federal grounds with his family without a mask or social distancing.

Beyond of all that, it is evident with this example and plenty others, a solid half of this country does not want this vaccine. I still project that once the FDA gives their rushed approval, then more conservatives who had that factoid jammed into their brains these last few months, will then subliminally get the jab.
But the real catalyst will be what West Virginia Governor Jim Justice said, that when people really start to die, then the masses will take the vaccine. And I believe he is giving a nod of what’s to come.
