According to a recent statement from by President Joe Biden, the CDC is likely to advise mask wearing for children who are not vaccinated when they return to school next month and into the fall season.

Biden explained that the children over 12 years-old who have been vaccinated “shouldn’t wear a mask,” but those that have not should be.
It’s going to get tight in terms of whether Mom or Dad are being honest that Johnny did or didn’t get vaccinated.
According to Reuters, Biden also added that those aged 12 and under will soon be able to get vaccinated.
Fauci Says Mask Up
Dr. Anthony Fauci also has his recommendations regarding face masking. He is now endorsing that those who have been vaccinated should put their masks back on indoors.
On July 21st, Fauci told CNBC that,
If you want to go the extra mile of safety even though you’re vaccinated when you’re indoors, particularly in crowded places, you might want to consider wearing a mask.
This virus is clearly different than the viruses and the variants that we’ve had experience with before. It has an extraordinary capability of transmitting from person to person.
Viruses don’t mutate unless you allow them to replicate and spread in the community, you give them ample time and ample opportunity to mutate and you got a new variant. The easiest and best and most effective way that we can prevent the emergence of a new variant and crush the already existing delta variant is to get everyone vaccinated.
Fauci was also asked about lockdowns being reinstated to curb the spread of the Delta variant, and Fauci does not believe they will be coming back anytime soon.
I don’t see that on the horizon right now. What I do see is increased testing and increased local mandates and a big push to get people vaccinated.
As discussed in this interview and mentioned in other reports, such as Business Insider, mention that it is reported that the large majority of new cases (including “breakthroughs – where the vaccinated still test positive) are attributed to the Delta variant.
Business Insider additionally notes in its introductory bullet points:
More fully vaccinated Americans are getting COVID-19, albeit with milder, or no, symptoms.
As noted in a different WinePress report, Yahoo provided a graph charting the number of cases, as the CDC director Rochelle Walensky warned of a pandemic among the unvaccinated.
States Recommending Masking
Though Fauci is currently suggesting remasking, some are also recommending them and mandating masks once again.
Roughly six days ago Los Angeles County in California reinstated their mask mandate to curb the spread of the Delta variant. The same day, The WinePress reported that Jerome Adams, the former surgeon general under the Trump Administration, is also calling for the CDC to once again recommend masks, even for people that are already vaccinated.
Instead of vax it OR mask it, the emerging data suggests CDC should be advising to vax it AND mask it in areas with Upwards arrow cases and positivity- until we see numbers going back down again.
CDC was well intended, but the message was misinterpreted, premature, & wrong. Let’s fix it.

Now many other cities and states are reimposing their masks, or strongly recommending it.
On July 20th, reported by the Washington Examiner, Governor Andy Beshear is now recommending that fully vaccinated residents should put their masks back on for jobs that require “significant public exposure.”
We have the most aggressive variant that we have seen to date in our battle against COVID. It’s a serious, even deadly, threat to unvaccinated Kentuckians. If more adults don’t get vaccinated, it’s not just adults who pay the price. It’s our kids who will. Many of them can’t get vaccinated yet, and they count on us to make good decisions and do the right thing.
All unvaccinated Kentuckians, when eligible, should be vaccinated immediately.
After a long, dark pandemic, more of our people have gotten their shot of hope, and we have steadily moved to lift the last remaining restrictions put in place to slow the spread of this dangerous virus and save lives. Nevada is also resinstating masking in some areas. Reported yesterday by NBC, Las Vegas and other parts of Clark County must wear their masks again, but patrons are not required to.
We have already been through a shutdown and a start-up, and we cannot afford to have major conventions decide to go elsewhere.
Commissioner Jim Gibson, stated after an emergency meeting
Owner of two The Great American Pubs’ in Vegas, Chris Scarpulla, said that while the mandate is cumbersome, it is better than another shutdown.
I don’t think the employees are very happy with it, but I think they’re happy enough to follow the mandate and understand that this keeps them employed.
This keeps us open.
Others were not so happy.
You’re telling us what to do, wear a mask — that’s my decision, not yours.
Jim Blockey told the board
New Orleans, Louisiana, also announced yesterday that they are “strongly recommending” wearing masks indoors, reports Axios.
This again, like the aforementioned people and governments have said, it is to curb the rise of Delta variant cases.
The Delta variant is alive and very much well in the city of New Orleans. This is the most immediate thing, and the most tangible thing we can do to slow the spread.

Give it a few more days, a week perhaps, then Fauci will be saying mandatory masking for the vaccinated is “common sense, the science has evolved,” and to “get over it.“
The reality of the situation is the masks will be coming back across the board, more business and travel restrictions are coming, and so forth; including lockdowns. Triple-chin McConnell hinted towards that yesterday.
Just within the last few days, I am already seeing more and more drones walking about with their masks on again. People are just so insane anymore.
