After the continued debates and arguments surrounding views on sodomy (LGTBQ+) have caused a major rift among the United Methodist Church, conservative-leaning Methodists will now break off and officially create a new denomination.
According to the Christian Post, ‘The Wesleyan Covenant Association and the 17-member Transitional Leadership Council released a statement on Monday morning announcing the creation of the Global Methodist Church.’
This new denomination will not become official until 2022 after the UMC General Conference has passed, which is marked on the calendars for 2022. A separation measure called the Protocol for Reconciliation and Grace through Separation must first be established.
At the General Conference, the Protocol will be up for debate whether this new proposed denomination can officially secede. The Conference was postponed last year due to Covid restrictions and precaution, and this year’s scheduled meeting was also canceled out of caution.
The new Global Methodist Church, according to Transitional Leadership Council Chairman Rev. Keith Boyette, said,
[The GMC] would make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly.Over the past year, the council members, and hundreds of people who have informed their work, have faithfully and thoughtfully arrived at this point.
They are happy to share with others a wealth of information about a church they believe will be steeped in the life giving confessions of the Christian faith.
Keith Boyette, said in a statement
The GMC has launched a new website explaining the new denomination, stating they will allow female pastors and will take stands for racial equality.
Alternatively, if it becomes apparent that the leading bishops, centrists, and progressives who covenanted to support the Protocol no longer do so, then the council will consider bringing the new church into existence without delay.
For approximately one year, the Global Methodist Church will be a church in transition as it prepares for its convening General Conference.

In December of 2020, a group of progressive-leaning Methodists have also announced their split to create a new denomination of their own.
This group is known as the Liberation Methodist Connexion and they describe themselves as
A grassroots denomination of former, current, and non-Methodist faith leaders working on the unfolding of the kin-dom of God.
According to the post, they honor and respect all “gender expressions and sexual identity,” “religious or non-religious backgrounds,” “races and ethnicities,” “size,” and “monogamous and non-monogamous.”
We trust God’s presence and our collaborative labors will guide us toward a new, more liberative way of answering our calling and being in connexion together.
They go onto to state their “theology is not written in stone.”
AUTHOR COMMENTARY
[1] And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. [2] I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. [3] For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? [4] For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? [5] Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?1 Corinthians 3:1-5
More carnality as usual from these denominations. So what if this conservative-leaning group wants to leave and start their own denomination?: it already is just as carnal and heretical as the previous Methodists. If you go on their website and do some examinations of what they believe, they reference the very same materials as the UMC does. So basically the GMC is just as ecumenical and leavened as the original: now they just openly take stands against sodomy, which I “can’t wait” to hear how long it takes before it becomes public that the clergy was having some sodomite orgy – which goes on in all denominations, pick one – and makes them look like the hypocrites that they are. Mark my words. Feel free to place bets (I say that jokingly) as to how long they’ll last before this eventual news reaches the public’s attention.
[11] Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. [12] But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. [13] For Adam was first formed, then Eve. [14] And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.1 Timothy 2:11-14
-Not according to the GMC. But Methodists have long rejected the teachings of the Bible. As evidenced on the GMC website, they refer to the additional books written by man and their own traditions, which takes precedence over the word of God. Just as a Catholic with his catechism, so too of the Methodist and his Book of Discipline.
Here is a picture of their logo:
The Global Methodist Church’s logo brings together in its three circles the one God – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – who alone we worship. The circles intersect at the center of the cross of Jesus Christ, the symbol of our deliverance from our slavery to sin and fear of death. The outer circumference of the rings represents the globe. As a whole, the logo communicates God’s sending of the church into the world. The sky blue color reminds us that even though Global Methodists live all around the world, they are all united together in God’s great creation.
Logo meaning on their website
This is the pagan triquetra stolen from the pagans predating true Christianity, and was eventually adopted by the Roman Catholics when they began the synchronism of their religion with the other heathenistic beliefs to gain their control. The GMC has just borrowed it too. I explain more about this symbol in my book “The Lord of Glory.”
