An arm of Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) said the app and hotline will allow and encourage netizens to report fellow internet users who spread “mistaken opinions” online in order to create a “good public opinion atmosphere.”

China has recently launched a new app that will give its citizens the ability to report on their neighbors who display criticism of the Chinese Communist Party or question its history online, according to a Daily Mail report.

The app has been released by China’s cyber regulator, additionally with a similar hotline, to crackdown on what they call “historical nihilists” a few months ahead of the 100-year anniversary of the Party in July.

According to the report, ‘An arm of Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) said the app and hotline will allow and encourage netizens to report fellow internet users who spread “mistaken opinions” online in order to create a “good public opinion atmosphere.'”

This includes offenses such as denying “the excellence of advanced socialist culture,” skewing the history of the Party, making attacks or criticisms against the party and/or its leadership, and vilifying national idol-figures.

For a while now, some people with ulterior motives… have spread historically nihilistic false statements online, maliciously distorting, slandering and denying Party, national and military history in an attempt to confuse people’s thinking.

We hope that the majority of Internet users will actively play their part in supervising society … and enthusiastically report harmful information.

The notice did not specify any kind of punishments if these rules were broken.

China’s internet is highly censored and a large majority of foreign media outlets, search engines, and social media apps are prohibited.

According the Daily Mail report, a 19 year-old man living in the eastern Chinese providence Jiangsu was detained for making “insulting” comments online about the 1937 Japanese occupation of the Chinese city Nanjing, where hundreds of thousands were slaughtered by imperial Japanese troops prior to the official beginning of World War II.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

[9] I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth. [10] Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them. [11] And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities.

If these people are not taken away and killed, they are hauled off to some forced labor camp to make cheap products sold back to America.

The censorship in China has been growing to astronomical amounts, and will only get worse.
