At the beginning of February, The WinePress released a report titled “Gluttony Pandemic In America. Too Fat To Fight And Survive.” In that report we cited various sources of how much weight was gained since the start of the pandemonium and lockdowns over a year ago, massive demand for junk food resulting in empty shelves, and retired military generals warning that the current generations are too fat to fight.
A recent report from Yahoo Finance reinforces these truths.
According to the Yahoo report, they believe the snacking boom related to Covid pandemonium and lockdowns is here to stay, stating that a majority of U.S. consumers are spending more time at home – purchasing and eating junk food from big brand names.
They report these trends are largely driven by the younger generations.
‘According to a report issued by Coca-Cola, 73% of Gen Z and Millennials admit they’ve snacked more during the pandemic; Gen X respondents also admitted to snacking (54%) more, with Boomers not far behind (representing a 48% jump)’, says the Yahoo report.
Additionally the Yahoo report also says, “Americans also admitted they will do whatever it takes to get a snack “at their ‘hangriest'” state, the beverage giant’s data found, with nearly half of the nation saying they would walk over a mile for a sweet or salty snack.”
In combination with this data, Coke’s statistics from their survey found that 52% living in the Western and Southwestern regions craved pizza with their Cherry Coke. The Midwest was found to crave potato chips at 58%, french fries at 51% for the Southeast and moving more eastward, and 49% for hotwings in the Eastern states.
This corroborates with similar data coming from PepsiCo. Frito-Lay’s U.S. Snack Index shows that 40% of Americans said they planned to snack more during this year’s Super Bowl compared to the previous one prior to the Covid pandemonium. To meet this demand, Frito-Lay shipped over 70 million pounds of snacks in the week leading up the biggest sports event in the nation.
During the Super Bowl, PepsiCo released Cheetos Crunch Pop Mix that has become a big hit.
The company has now recently debuted a new Habanero-flavored Tostitos chip.
Ramon Luis Laguarta, PepsiCo chairman & CEO, stated in a quarterly-earnings call that they forecast things will be returning to “more of a normal life,” notably a greater return to physical in-person shopping.
I think consumers will go back to experimenting a little bit more, and they will be looking for innovation. We’re going to see a small — slow return back to bit more complex portfolios.

Even More Artificial “Foods”
Pillsbury recently released ready to eat cookies in the snack aisle in March, with flavors such as chocolate chip, confetti, and peanut butter. Jeff Caswell, president of General Mills Snacks Division, said, “there are times that a ready-to-eat cookie is preferred.”
Even though General Mills’ sales did see a dip in the last quarter, the company is optimistic that changes in “consumer behaviors driven by the COVID-19 pandemic” will remain.
‘It highlighted “more time spent working from home, and increased consumer appreciation for cooking and baking,” prompting the company to focus on innovation and growing profits in the snack segment,’ according to the Yahoo report.
Kellogg Company’s Cheez-It has also released limited edition loaded popcorns: cheddar and white cheddar.
On top of all the new creations, Mondelez, the parent company of Oreo, released Lady Gaga inspired cookies that have green colored creme and bright colored wafers. The company also released flavors such as Java Chip, Strawberry Frosted Donut, and Brookie-O’s.
Mondelez International reported that their Q4 sales on snacks skyrocketed 80% in 2020, resuming the trend of a 75% spike from the previous year, and 60% in 2018.
There is real reason to believe that sector could be heading into an extended period of strength.

Instead of a picture of decline, one of significant long-term potential appears.
Top grocers are actually trending in the right direction and could be heading into a period of unique strength. While COVID’s health effects seem to be dissipating, the economic consequences will last far longer. This should buoy grocery as it provides a cost-conscious alternative to eating out.
CMO Ethan Chernofsky
The Yahoo report concludes with, ‘Snack stocks like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Mondelez, and General Mills are perched at or near 52-week highs. Meanwhile, grocer stocks like Kroger and Albertsons are up more than 20%.’

You don’t see this country locking down, social distancing, wearing masks, and forcing a vaccine because this country is ridiculously obese. Quite the opposite: this country gives you free donuts and coffee for getting vaccinated to be “healthy.”
As we have shown in another report, unhealthy eating kills far more than Covid ever has or ever will. Covid or not, in the words of George Carlin (who I do not endorse or recommend you listen to) in his famous “It’s a big club and you ain’t it” speech, he said in 2005, “Forget the bald eagle, you know what this country’s national emblem ought to be? – a big bowl of macaroni & cheese!” And just before that statement he said “this country is pig time, big time.”
He’s exactly right. This country is the heavyweight champ of the world. A nation that is sustained on sugar, artificial sweeteners, GMO’s, refined carbs and starches – eaten up by a people that did not learn when to say “no,” but rather, “are you gonna finish that?” – by people that can barely touch their toes. And I am just talking about the Christians.

Yuck. The cookies too.
Even a Christ-rejecting potty-mouthed athiest like George Carlin had better sense and discernment than most “christians” on the gluttonous overindulgence of America. Not endorsing him, just saying. Our emblem should be a big bowl of macaroni and cheese…or a gigantic bacon cheeseburger. So far so good I have a physically active job and I go to the gym whenever I can, and I avoid wearing a face diaper as much as I can while someone who is over 300-500 pounds obese is so paranoid over the baloney virus, they ought to be more paranoid about the colossal waist circumference and quiver at the over surrounding of food, most of it being complete junk with very few or no health benefits whatsoever.
