According to a survey from KPMG, the global tax, advisory and accounting firm, 91% of the 140 CEO’s polled said their companies will be asking their employees to inform them of when they get a Covid vaccine.
The survey conducted by KPMG polled CEOs that make at least $500 million in annual revenue.
52% of the CEOs said they believe business will return to normal by the fall or winter of this year. 29% said sometime next year business will normalize, and 19% said their business will be forever changed.
[The guidance from the federal workplace regulator] makes it very clear that employers have the law on their side.Sahar Aziz. A Rutgers Law School professor specializing in employment discrimination, previously told MarketWatch
Aziz did say the exception would be for those that have religious beliefs that go against vaccinations or those that have disabilities from getting the jab.
The MarketWatch report notes that employers have the ability to enquire about their employee’s vaccine status because it is not a disability related question under the circumstances, according to legal experts from Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr law firm.
A Pew Research Center poll released earlier this month said 69% of Americans intend to get their shots, or have already been vaccinated. That’s up from 60% of people who said in November they were planning to be vaccinated, says the Market Watch report.
AUTHOR COMEMNTARY
[10] And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more; [11] And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; [12] That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.1 Thessalonians 4:10-12
I am mentioning this report, similarly to others we have been doing since we started The WinePress, because you need to be preparing. Some employers will not care if you are vaccinated or not, that is true, but most of them will. Just as many businesses are still mandating masks even though states are opening up more, the same will apply with the vaccines.
I mention 1 Thessalonians 4 because that principle still holds true. More so than ever before you need to be self-reliant. Obviously, trust the Lord first and foremost, but I am saying you need to not rely on these businesses to give you a fair opportunity and uphold your rights. Many of these businesses are not going to care about your “religious convictions.” And if they do allow it, all the other co-workers will see to it that you are ostracized.
By becoming your own bank, your business, your own provider, you will do well. Study out ways to be more self-sustaining.
The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
