A few days ago The WinePress noted in a report that Dr. Fauci wished that former President Trump would advocate the Covid vaccines so more people would take them. Surveys showed that a large percentage who do not want the Covid vaccine support Trump.
Fauci’s wish has come true, as former President Trump said last night on Fox said he advocates Americans take the “beautiful” vaccine.
According to The Blaze, Trump advocated for the vaccine on a primetime interview with Maria Bartiromo on Fox.
Bartiromo: Mr. President, I know that you received the vaccine, Mrs. Trump also got the vaccine. Would you recommend to our audience that they get the vaccine then?
Trump: I would. I would recommend it, and I would recommend it to a lot of people that don’t want to get it — and a lot of those people voted for me, quite frankly. But, again, we have our freedoms, and we have to live by that. And I agree with that also. But it is a great vaccine. It is a safe vaccine.
According to a report released by CBS, Trump and his wife Melania did in fact get vaccinated in January prior to leaving office but did not do so publicly.
It is also being reported by the New York Times that Trump was not asked to join the recent vaccine campaign, “It’s Up To You,” because Trump did not publicly disclose that he did get inoculated.
AUTHOR COMMENTARY
I highly doubt he got vaccinated, but it’s not like all these political figures did either. We pointed out some of the fake ones when they happened, so Trump saying he did is irrelevant to me.
Of course, because Trump gave a little kernel implying that you do not have to get the vaccine, that’ll be enough for many Trump diehards to say “See, Trump is not pro-vaccine,” or something crazy like that. As I have said in other reports, it never ceases to amaze me how many actual anti-vaxxers vote for Trump and defend his actions as Trump is directly responsible for Operation Warp Speed.
This will probably convince some more people to get the vaccine just because Trump promoted it, but I still think many who supported him will not.
