Abbott, who in times past has challenged big tech censorship, is now doing some of his own going after the free speech platform Gab.ai.
The Texas governor made the claim that Gab is a harbinger for anti-Semitism and posted on Twitter legislature he recently passed to help fight against Gab.
Some on social media were quick to respond to this and responded by saying Gab is not what the Governor claims, arguing that other social media platforms are just as equally or more anti-Semitic than Gab.
Others noted the hypocrisy that the official Texas GOP has its own Gab account.
Gab tweeted a response to Abbott’s post.
Gab also made an official statement on their website, which is as follows:
Every month 30 million people use Gab’s services to get access to the free flow of information online. Gab is the home of free speech in a world where Big Tech oligarchs have censored, deplatformed, and demonized tens of millions of good, honest, and decent people with whom they disagree politically.
Tonight Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a “Republican,” issued a despicable and false statement smearing Gab as an “anti-semitic platform that quote “has no place in Texas.” This is the same Gov. Abbott who just five days ago said he was “taking a stand against Big Tech censorship.”
Gov. Abbott’s statement will likely not sit well with the nearly 800,000 Texans who have visited Gab.com in the past 24 hours alone. What is even more strange is that the Texas GOP itself is on Gab with a verified account.
Gab is not an “anti-semitic” platform. We protect the political speech of all Americans, regardless of viewpoint, because in this age of cancel culture nobody else will. That means unpopular viewpoints may be found on the site.
The enemies of freedom smear us with every name in the book because they hate America and they hate free speech. It’s a shame to see a GOP politician fall for this trap when conservative values are under sustained attack all over the country.
People smear Gab for the kinds of people we host. They never smear Gab for the kinds of people we ban. That’s because we don’t have political tests for our users. Ban decisions are made on an individual basis. Our test for political speech is whether it is legal or not. Pretty simple rule.
There are many Jewish Gab users and customers, whose lawful speech we protect with just as much zeal as we would protect the lawful speech of any person of any faith, ethnicity, or creed.
This is what America used to be like: a place where The People could speak freely regardless of their faith, ethnic background, or beliefs. This is the America Gab is fighting to preserve.
Apparently Gov. Abbott doesn’t agree.

I have never used Gab, and, for that matter, I have never had a social media account with the exception of YouTube.
While it is to be noted that Gab definitely is a hotbed for many staunch conservatives (and even some reports of Qanon supporters are present there), if Abbott claims to be a defender of the 1st amendment, the legislature he just passed flies in the face of his previous statements and is doing the very things big tech has been doing.
This proves that he is nothing more than a political parasite who is good at lying and smiling at the same time. This is one of the necessary skills for all politicians. Abbott is just as fake as all the rest whether its a Republican or Democrat – two sides of the same problem; but WinePress readers already know this.

I have found Gab to contain much that is antisemitic, but that is becoming the majority stance of most all of the ‘conservative evangelicals’ as they rejoin with Rome via their common ground of Augustine & his elitist, philosophical errors. It’s also moving many to the mid- and post-trib positions.

The thing with freedom of speech is that it requires maturity & wisdom, and real tolerance….not the nannying, inquisitional, elitist Romish nicolaitan & sword-of-state leaven of the Pharisees and Herod types. Those who are sober & slow to take offense in obedience to the word of God & in harmony with the spirit of scripture don’t have a problem with that.

Something about this in the back of my mind with regard to these men, what the builders are building, and what was recently posted regarding Geoffrey Grider & Now the End Begins. After decades of watching how ‘Christian scholarship’ has played out, Grider’s loosey-goosey handling of the scriptures & prophecy will no doubt be used by the preening self-righteous & politicizing religious unity of scholastic sniffiness & hypocrisy to mock & disparage the biblical dispensational position. Then to come down on it every bit as inquisitionally (is that a word? it is now…if they can change the dictionary, then…lol) from the faux ‘right’ as the faux ‘left’ with the same hidden hand & global corporate powers behind, driving & steering the whole she-bang.

Like Anderson, Grider’s site may even have been set up for that purpose; as it now appears that Chuck Smith’s hippie revival stuff had military influencing & backing to ‘evolve’ the faith in the popular mind. I believe that it’s like Rome & all the Babylonian ordered mystery societies, & that many times the cultivated dupes promoted beyond their ability & understanding are well-intentioned & not even realizing what they are being led into & figure-heading for the men in the shadows. Ezekiel 8 and all the false shepherd & prophet passages. God knows, and sees, and he has faithfully warned us….and always, always judges aright. Even those David’s and Lot’s and Manasseh’s who should never be our goal to emulate, nonetheless are in holy writ for a reason. Psalm 118….and how bittersweet for Jesus riding into Jerusalem & up to the Temple, hearing those words repeated by souls who thought they knew what it was all about, but who hadn’t a clue.

No wonder he wept over her…..and is still knocking today by the Spirit & the word, even on the door of Laodicea. To the Jew first, then to the Greek. Romans 1-2, and 9-11KJB.
