Governor Tate Reeves announced that he is lifting the mask mandate for the state and will allow businesses to operate at full capacity without any restrictions.
Today, I signed what I expect will be one of my last executive orders regarding COVID-19. Our hospitalizations have plummeted, and our case numbers have fallen dramatically as well. In fact, our case numbers have fallen to the point where no county meets the original criteria for a mask mandate.

Mississippians will continue to be encouraged to wear face masks and to social distance, but they will ordered to do so.
Everyone should continue to listen to (State Health Officer Dr. Thomas) Dobbs and other health advisors for the best possible wisdom regarding how you can personally stem any risk of catching COVID. Their insight is valuable. The only rules that will remain in this order are a capacity limit of 50% on indoor arenas, and those that govern K-12 schools.
We’re not out of the woods. People still need to be careful. We are fortunate to have new tools. We have vaccines available that are highly effective, not only at preventing illness and severe illness, but a growing body of evidence that it does also prevent transmission, further reinforcing how important it is for folks to get vaccinated.
This new order remains in effect until March 31st, and students in k-12 public schools must still wear a mask when social distancing is not possbile.
According to the report, Dobbs said the Mississippi State Department of Health is putting out new public health guidelines for people over 65, or those 16 and older with chronic medical conditions that make them at risk for contracting the virus.
We are strongly recommending that you do not attend any social activities, or any mass gatherings at all, until you get vaccinated.

Frankly, I am going irate right now, and this isn’t even my state. This is similar to the same nonsense the Iowa and Texas governors are doing. The new ruling for Iowa is set to expire the 7th. What happens then? Same for Mississippi, what happens April 1st? Do you see what is going on? These dictators are just giving and taking freedoms whenever at their own volition: and the people let these corrupt leaders take them.
It should enrage you when these sick freaks start talking about the economy and bringing back jobs when THEY WERE THE ONES THAT KILLED THEM!
And what is even more sickening is THE CHILDREN in public prison (schools) are still forced to wear masks while the adults do not. Those in k-12 have a 99.997% of surviving from Covid, let alone contracting it (and knowing they even have it). The youth is more likely to get run over by a bus than die of Covid!
[7] In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. [8] Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah. [9] Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity. [10] Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them. [11] God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God. [12] Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work. Psalm 62:7-12

The deadlines are a dead giveaway that they don’t plan to lift the restrictions long term, if ever. It’s just to let people “relax” a little bit. But it is curious that they are setting April as the limit, surely they know something… Another great international lockdown incoming by then because of a “new mutation”, perhaps?
