The report begins by citing how the Roman Catholic diocese of Charlotte sought after government aid by utilizing the small business business relief program to the tune of $8 million.
Even though they received federal financial aid, their financial records show that the diocese’s headquarters, churches and schools were sitting on $100 million.
But when the supposed fears of going under never materialized, their assets reached $110 million by the summer.
I am gratified to report the overall good financial health of the diocese despite the many difficulties presented by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bishop Peter Jugis. Statement in the diocese’s audited financial report
All across the country Roman Catholic dioceses and churches received aid from the Payment Protection Program (PPP), part of the legislature of the CARES Act that was immediately signed in March of 2020. However, it is reported that these dioceses were already sitting on $10 billion in cold-hard cash, short-term investments or other available funds, according to an Associated Press report. Even though many have been severely hurt by the lockdowns, the assets belonging to the dioceses have grown.
Of the 112 dioceses that shared their financial statements, including their overseen schools and churches, raked in at least $1.5 billion in taxpayer-backed aid.
Most of these dioceses reported they had enough money to cover at least 6 months of operating expenses.
According to the report, the financial resources of several dioceses rivaled or exceeded those available to publicly traded companies like Shake Shack and Ruth’s Chris Steak House, whose early participation in the program triggered outrage.
When the dust settled, federal officials emphasized that the money was intended for those that desperately needed it – to provide a cushion that cash and liquidity provide. Some corporations and franchises, such as Shake Shack, returned their $10 million dollars – though they should have never been allowed to be sign up regardless.
Overall, the near 200 dioceses and other catholic institutions received at least $3 billion.
This essentially makes Roman Catholicism the greatest beneficiary of the PPP loans, according to the AP’s analysis of data the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) following a public-records lawsuit by news organizations.
With the latest stimulus package signed by Congress and former President Trump before leaving office, the SBA was able to refuel more PPP loans of $300 billion.
The report continues to note that the financial statements for 2020 show that their available resources remained robust or improved during the pandemic’s hard, early months, whether a diocese was big, small, urban, rural, east, west, north or south.
The archdiocese of Louisville grew from at least $153 million to $157 million during the fiscal year that ended in June, but received at least $17 million in PPP checks.
The Archdiocese’s operations have not been significantly impacted by the Covid-19 outbreak.
Says their financial statement
The archdiocese of Chicago is reported to have more than $1 billion in cash and investments as of May of 2020. The congregants continued to pass the offering plate around and donate “more than expected,” according to a review by the independent ratings agency Moody’s Investors Service.
Chicago’s parishes, schools and ministries accumulated at least $77 million in PPP loans.
However, Roman Catholicism was not the only religious sect to greatly benefit from these loans. Roughly another $3 billion went to Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist and Jewish faith-based organizations.
Research from the Associated Press shows, catholic institutions also received many times more than organizations such as the United Way, Goodwill Industries and Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Overall, Catholic recipients got roughly twice as much as 40 of the largest, most well-known charities in America combined.
The Vatican deferred questions from themselves to the US conference of Catholic bishops, which said it does not speak on behalf of dioceses.

The report also notes of one pastor who did not want file for a loan because he felt the money belonged to the small businesses it was intended for, in order for them to stay afloat.

[5] And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. [18] And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.[17] For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, [18] And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city! [19] And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate. [20] Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her. [21] And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. [22] And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; [23] And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. [24] And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.Revelation 17:5, 18, 18:17-24
It is absolutely just disgusting to see how much wealth these sick devils raked in – and not just Catholicism, but all these other denominations and “churches” that shut their doors at the government’s command. Myself and others have been saying for years these places are nothing more than a business: and the lockdowns and PPP proved that with flying colors.
People all over the nation, regardless of their beliefs (for the sake of argument), were left feeling betrayed and alone when these churches not only shutdown, but next to no one even bothered discussing these issues, the false science with Covid-19, the shutdowns, the poverty, and so on and so forth. Rather, they continued to keep preaching the same useless and fruitless garbage that they have been for many years. In a time when people really need help, these hirelings left them out to dry. These “pastors” proved they only do what they do to make a solid income. Their bills are paid for while the congregation is impoverished, facing jobless and homeless, sickness, deep depression and anxiety, and so on. It’s the dark ages all over again!
[9] I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. [10] The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. [11] I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. [12] But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. [13] The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. [14] I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. [15] As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. John 10:9-15
