It was announced several days before Christmas that Dr. Deborah Birx will be retiring in the coming future.
She claims she will be retiring after helping the incoming Biden administration settle in, and help that administration “be successful.”
This announcement comes after Birx was slammed for breaking the covid guidelines for travel. The Associated Press reported that Birx and three different generations of her family gathered together at a vacation house in Fenwick Island in Delaware on November 27th, a day after Thanksgiving.
The people that met there with her were her husband, daughter, son-in-law, two young grandchildren. These were two separate households.
Birx had told CNN told Americans to limit indoor gatherings to immediate households this Thanksgiving. By meeting with her family, this broke her own guidelines.
I don’t like it to be any number. Because you know, if you say it can be 10, and it’s eight people from four different families, then that probably is not the same degree of safe as 10 people from your immediate household.
I’m making the personal sacrifices not to infect my parents and my pregnant daughter, and there’s a lot of people out there who know how to protect one another, and we just need to make sure we’re all doing that.
Naturally, when the news broke about this, there was a backlash of Americans flustered at the hypocrisy.
Even though she broke her own guidelines, she tried to defend herself.
I think what was done in the past week to my family — you know, they didn’t choose this for me. They’ve tried to be supportive, but to drag my family into this –
My daughter hasn’t left that house in 10 months, my parents have been isolated for 10 months. They’ve become deeply depressed as I’m sure many elderly have as they’ve not been able to see their sons, their granddaughters.
My parents have not been able to see their surviving son for over a year. These are all very difficult things.
AUTHOR COMMENTARY
It has been difficult for everyone because people like YOU, Mrs. Birx, have made it so. While going after her family is a bit much, Birx is to be held to a very high standard. Countless millions of lives have been absolutely wrecked because of all the nonsense people like her have been touting all year.
But this further demonstrates that these people make the rules, and they are not obliged to follow a single one of them.
This is the same woman that at one point in time advocated that everyone be completely locked up in their homes, and cannot leave for absolutely nothing except getting groceries, basically.
But ye are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value.
