Instagram has recently updated their terms of service, and what you have to agree to is incredibly invasive: and that is putting it lightly.
The following YouTube video uploaded by satirical comedian, JP Sears, highlights some of the “gems” Instagram is now forcing users to agree to.
As absurd as these conditions are, do not think this is nothing new. Instagram, and other social networks like Facebook and Twitter, have no doubt been doing this for quite a long time: they are just now boldly throwing it our faces. Because of the Patriot Act signed after the 9/11 attacks, the government has every legal right to spy on its people with any means necessary, essentially.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: I will preface that there are a few sexual jokes in this video, and so I do apologize for that. Sears, however, does a good job of pointing out the ridiculous conditions they are now openly doing. All the more reason to distance yourself from social media the best that you can. The only social media account I use is YouTube, but that has fallen on the wayside a bit because of all the deleted videos and comments they have been doing to myself and many others as well.
